Bit of a round up post today. Utterly sick of the naff weather, hailstone showers every day at the moment, windy, grey. Get in the bin.

Decided we needed exercise regardless, so went for a passeggiata which turned into a 3 hour trek. It worked out better this way, because it allowed me to stop at the shop for beer on the way home.

Colonel Mustard

Some effort was spent earlier this week attempting to identify the largest of the flowers in my wild flower patch. Consensus was some form of mustard.

This all turned out to be wasted effort, since the wind and rain last night saw the end of it.

Punnets for a pound

On a brighter note Mrs Basil is most pleased that her strawberry growing efforts are bearing such good fruit and we saw the fledgling blackbird being waited on again by it’s mother.

Strawberries

I’d never considered why they were called strawberries and now feel a bit like a daft arse for never thinking about it before.

The font of my frustrations

I’ve been struggling with fonts the last few days. Being unable to get all of font awesome working at any version caused massive frustration leading me to lash out a confusing test editor. In the midst of this I realised that the fonts on my blog looked fuzzy on my ubuntu install (I still don’t know why).

During trying to solve this I discovered that the headline font on the blog was a paid font and I don’t have a licence so had to change to something else, which I actually like better in theory, except that appears wonky on my ubuntu install.

I mean, come on, what is going on here?

I have for the moment, given up on fonts, and I’m just going to ignore it. (I’m lying, obviously, it’s making my brain itch)

Who knew?

People have strong opinions about text editors. Who knew?
