Building on Knowledge

It is infinitely easier to expand your knowledge when it is built on existing foundations Ahrens 2022, 102. There is a very small limit on how many facts crammed into memory without context, and true context requires understanding.

When layering new facts upon existing and deep understanding, the new understanding can almost seem self-evident.

If you attempt to build on something without developing an understanding of it, there is no context on which to build. Each time you pile facts upon facts, their recall will become more difficult along with any chance of developing an understanding.
